Validity, entries and length of stay

The period of validity states within which time frame the visa can be used. The number of entries states how often entry is permitted.

The permitted length of stay is calculated separately; for short stays the rule of 90 days within 180 days applies.

The Visa Code rule on proof

Article 15 foresees that applicants for a multiple-entry visa prove that they hold travel medical insurance covering the period of their first intended visit.

In addition, applicants sign a declaration stating that they are aware of the need to hold travel medical insurance for subsequent stays.

Whether and in what form an insurer offers contracts for longer periods or repeated stays follows exclusively from its own documents and terms.
